Traditional reports are great for showing numbers, but it has always been challenging to explore and understand the data better. The lack of customizations and the challenge of limited insights are now solved with interactive reports.
What Are Interactive Reports In Ad Manager?
Interactive Report is a versatile reporting tool that lets you analyze and visualize ad performance data in real-time. These reports help customize data views like date, device, geography, and further segment based on impressions, clicks revenue, and more. It also makes it easy to spot trends, save custom setups, schedule reports, and uncover actionable insights quickly.
Interactive Reports For All Ad Manager Publishers
It was recently announced that interactive Reports will now be available for all publishers on Ad Manager. This opens up numerous opportunities for publishers to better understand the data and gain better insights.
You can now create and view the results on the same page in Ad Manager. You can organize the data with filtering and sorting, apply date-segment comparisons, and choose between a hierarchical or flat table structure for your results. You will also get access to new features such as flag-triggered scheduled reports, making it easier to stay on top of key changes and create smarter reports.
Creating An Interactive Report On Ad Manager
First, sign in to Google Ad Manager. Then, head to Reporting and click on Interactive reports.

Then head to “Help me generate a report” and either enter or select a prompt. Type in the name you want to use to select the basic parameters for your report, such as Date and Compare. By default, “None” (no comparison) is selected.
You can also select –
Split– By default, the “Split” option shows “Totals only.” If you’d like to break down your data by time period (like daily or monthly), click Expand under “Split” and choose your preferred option.
Currency– To view your report in a different currency, go to “Report currency,” click Expand, and select the currency you want.
Time zone– To adjust the time zone of your report, click Expand under “Time zone” and pick from the available options. You can choose between your network time zone (default) or the Ad Exchange time zone.
Add Dimensions And Metrics
You can enter a search term or search the list to find dimensions and metrics. To add them, check the box next to each one you want to include. For a full list, click “View all,” make your selections, and then hit Apply.
For a more focused view, use the toggle in the top-right corner to switch between Dimensions and Metrics.
Filtering results – To narrow down your report (for example, by “Country”), click Add filter, choose your filter criteria, and click Apply.
Know More About Report Results
With Interactive Reports, your setup and results appear on the same page- no need to switch tabs. As you add metrics and dimensions, your results update automatically in real time. For longer reports, just scroll up or down to view all rows easily.
Time comparisons made easy – You can compare performance across time by selecting options like Previous period, Same period last year, or set a Custom period to suit your analysis.
